This, friends, is un-fucking-acceptable!  The Green Bay vs. Dallas game will, in all probability will not be fucking aired as the NFL and the cable companies are in the middle of a fucking dispute over god knows what.  Like I fucking said, un-fucking-acceptable!  Go to hell you greedy pricks, and put my fucking game on the air you shitheads!

Finally the new season of that old series is about to resume. Conceivably a more momentous event than any football game (though I must admit I feel a twinge of heresy in that statement), Saturday, 24 November 2007 marks the emergence of the next chapter of Battlestar Galactica.

After having watching all three previous seasons on DVD over a period of about a week, I was hooked on this show. My only real gripe was that they replaced Starbuck (remember Face from the A-Team…that guy) with a woman. Not that this particular woman is horrible in the role, actually she is quite convincing, but if they wanted to add a female counterpart to a womanizing Starbuck (which is more than a little confusing, because in the original show there weren’t that many women), they should have just added another character. Bastards. Anyway, Razor is supposed to give the new show even more of an edge, and I hope; engage the minds of millions of Americans.

It is sad when you have to turn to a television show based in an entirely fictional world in an attempt to force people to think about what it is they are doing. Nevertheless, it is happening with more and more regularity these days. Very sad.

Some of the topics explored in Razor are the same that have been present since the shows’ inception a few years back, the sustaining and the destructive power of religion, the driving, absolute will to survive, mercy and ruthlessness, all of the things that our own country is slogging through right now. I guess perhaps it is easier for people to look at a television series and point out critical, societal flaws than it is to scrutinize their own society and find, to their horror, the very same flaws and problems.

So if you are planning to watch the show this Saturday, enjoy and remember, all stories generally find their origins in the nations we call home every day. Oh, and one more thing…the season does not actually start until April of 2008. I hate waiting.
