Berkley and Code Pink: FUCK OFF
After the sickening stunts pulled last week by those in Code Pink I’d think they would have learned a fucking lesson, but they are adamant in their bullheaded, offensive and revolting tactics. Don’t get me wrong, people, protest the war if you like. Don’t protest against the military; we don’t have a fucking option if we are to go to war.
This week finds Berkley and Code Pink at the forefront of a political struggle. The ‘Semper Fi Act of 2008’ aims to take away nearly $2 million of federal funding for Berkley and transfer the money to the Marine Corps. Now I’m all for additional funding for our military, especially if it comes in the form of providing care after our people exit the service. I’m also a great fan of providing out military with the equipment they require to get the job done, and to make it home unharmed and alive.
What I’m not on board with is punishing a city or a group of people for the exercise of their rights. Code Pink, regardless of how aberrant and loathsome their protest tactics might be, still has the right to protest. Thus far they haven’t done anything which violates federal of civil laws. Last I checked Americans still possess the right to free speech, and while I unreservedly and fully disagree with this particular protest, they are within their rights.
That said, know that I want nothing more than for something truly tragic to land atop these wretched, cowardly fools. They are protesting the Marine recruiting office in Berkley because they don’t want the young of Berkley to go and fight in a war they believe is both illegal and unwarranted. News flash shit heads, I don’t believe in this war either, I never have. But I still enlisted with the Army with full knowledge of the war and where I could end up. You cannot make the decision for your young; they will do what they want, as they should. Perhaps they will not make the best choice concerning their current situation or their future, but it is their goddamn decision to make. It is not now, and it will not ever be your decision.
You are protesting this war in the wrong arena, Code Pink, and you fucking know it. You figure it won’t do you any good to sit and protest in front Pelosi’s office, or any other elected official. Or maybe you lack the courage to land your signs and physical presence before those who are responsible for this war. So instead you pick the easy, soft target and hope to browbeat them out of town. Another news flash, the U.S. Marine Corps isn’t responsible for this war, they aren’t responsible for the location of the recruiting office, and I guarantee you sorry twats that they are not fucking intimidated by you.
Do yourselves a favor Code Pink and the city council that so inappropriately supports you, take your anger and use it elsewhere. I don’t have to tell you who is responsible for this war, or at least I shouldn’t have too. Assholes.
