On a Fucking Personal Note…
You know how the Boy King loves to espouse his support of the troops right? If you haven’t heard that two-faced mongrel shooting his mouth about that then you must have just climbed out of a deep, dark hole ( I STRONGLY suggest you go back if that is the case, I’m guessing its at least quite down there).
Well, some of you may know that I did at one point serve in the military. 10 years and with two different services, the Air Force first and the Army second. I even managed to serve with a great deal of distinction in the Army. In other words, I wasn’t a useless wretch and I did my job well, every single time, whether or not I wanted to do my job.
During my time in the Army I managed to gain Tuition Assistance, money that the military spends for you tuition and books for college. Great deal if you can find the time to study. Well, working twelve to fifteen hours a day, going TDY, counseling soldiers and going to endless briefings about nothing, and oh yeah…running a divorce really cuts down on any spare time you might have. Needless to say I had to give something up, and the military isn’t too forgiving when you give up the job. So it was college. And since I didn’t finish the current course load, I was accountable for the money fronted by the military.
But, due to the benevolent command I worked for (not all military units are assholes); I was granted a waiver for the recoupment. I was granted this waiver because of the fact that I busted my ass day and fucking night for the unit and they knew that I had little time to even go drinking on the weekends, let alone study for three courses.
When I was discharged everything went well. The Education Center noted that there was a debt, looked at the waiver and signed me off free and fucking clear. YAY!
Fast forward about a year…
A letter from the U.S. Treasury Department shows up, saying I owe them money for tuition assistance.
What the fuck?
I look through my files (reams of paperwork from the military, lots of butchered trees) and yep, there it is, the magical letter that says I don’t owe one fucking dime. A few phone calls later and I think the matter is cleared up.
Fast forward a few months…
A letter from some shit bag law firm in fucking Texas, saying I owe money to the U.S. Treasury Department. These pricks in Washington want money from me, that I told them I didn’t fucking owe in the first fucking place and they have the audacity to send some assclown from Texass after me? Give me a fucking break.
Skipping the boring details…
I talk to the law firm, fax them all pertinent documents saying that I don’t owe any money to any-fucking-body. Mealy-mouthed attorney says everything is good. YAY!
And one more fast forward to tax time 2008…
Filed taxes, pathetically small return this year. Fuck. But hey, it’s a return at least. YAY! Wait…what is this?
Make check payable to: U.S. Treasury Department
What.
The.
Fuck?
Phone call to Treasury Department ensues. They hadn’t received documents from mealy-mouthed attorney in bum fuck Texass. How silly of me to think that some redneck, servile, utterly pitiful clown from Texass could operate a fucking fax machine…my bad.
Point here people, the government had been told on at least three separate occasions that I did not owe them money. They had been provided with proof, and have again been provided with proof that I do not owe them money. But still they insist that I do.
And we aren’t talking a pile of money either. Less than a thousand dollars is what we are talking about. Not a lot of money for the government.
But this is the definition of taking care of veterans. Strange, seems more like the government is finding every possible way of screwing us at every fucking turn. I guess that is one of the fringe benefits of working for Uncle Sam, you can always get fucked.
Well, now the ranting and excessive use of obscenities is done with, I shall adjourn. Just remember America, Bush is a liar and he hates you. And he apparently really hates veterans, but he likes their money.
Out.
