Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum up for Dumbshit of The Week Award
Time to pick the Dumbshit of the week winner again, and this time I am having trouble deciding on which of my two candidates are truly deserving of the title. Both Huckabee and Santorum seem to be equally deserving of the title, actually, they are both rather deserving of more than a simple title if you ask me.
But on to our esteemed nominees. First up, Mike Huckabee. Governor of Arkansas and GOP Presidential hopeful (and with any luck, is all he will ever be when it comes to my President). What did our fine friend do to put himself on my radar? Glad you asked.
At the Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit in Washington D.C. this past weekend Huckabee said the following:
“Sometimes we talk about why we’re importing so many people in our workforce. It might be for the last 35 years, we have aborted more than a million people who would have been in our workforce had we not had the holocaust of liberalized abortion under a flawed Supreme Court ruling in 1973.”
Just to be clear Mike, are you actually comparing the Holocaust of WWII to abortion? Cause if you are, oh wow that is about the most retarded thing a Presidential candidate has ever said. What is sad, however, is that this year so many of wannabe future leaders are saying things that baffle the mind in their baseline stupidity. But, Mike, your comments have just marginalized an entire generation of people, if not the entire Jewish community. Congratulations. Additionally, Mike, whether you know it or not you have just stated that the women of America are responsible for providing a cheap labor force for our nation. Never mind the fact that all of the jobs these ‘illegal immigrants’ grab are jobs that no American would dream of doing. So, in your careless statement, and yes I know you were busy trying to endear yourself to a bunch of right-wing, ultra-conservative, anti-everything fun, patronizing and militant Christian pricks, you have alienated a great deal of the voters in this country, women, Jews, legal immigrants…would you like for me to continue?
Moving on. Rick Santorum made a remarkable statement earlier this week, on a level with Mike Huckabee. Santorum, speaking at Penn State as a guest (though I should not be surprised at his comments as he was there for the “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, what ever the fuck that is), made the following statement:
“Islam, unlike Christianity, is an all-encompassing ideology. It is not just something you do on Sunday…. We (as Americans) don’t get that.”
Well. Heaven forbid that people who claim to be religious actually act in a manner that resembles their statements. I mean, is a lack of hypocrisy that bad Rick? Or are all those ‘radical Islamo-Fascists’ making you and your fellow, watered-down Christians look bad? But hey, that last statement was not the worst of what you said.
“While Christianity presents a humble, meek message emphasizing love.”
We talking about the same Christianity here Rick? Because I could swear that some of the greatest wars in history were the direct result of Christian meddling in other parts of the world. I could be wrong though. Let’s do a quick recap of your ‘meek message emphasizing love’.
Teutonic Knights: Great group of guys here, gentle and loving, all the way up the point of their swords.
Knights Templar: Awesome bunch of people! They were so loving that they butchered Jews on their way to the Crusades.
The Crusades: So much love here that I almost feel gay with Christian zeal.
The American Indian: Missionaries showed so much love that the force-fed the Bible down their throats.
And my personal favorite, The Inquisition. Never in history have so few Christians showed so much love to so many people, all in the name of the Lord, and money, and land, and power, and personal grudges.
So Rick, go fuck yourself.

Sorry Rick, but you just weren’t worthy of the award. However you did manage a nice runner up title. And I am certain that you will find your way back to my awards list in no time. Until then, be happy with your Runner Up title.
