Phony Soldiers?

Well Fatty McButternuts is at it again, shooting his mouth off between consuming seventeen Twinkies, stating that ‘soldiers who oppose the war in Iraq are phony soldiers’.

I would not have believed that even Rush Limbaugh was capable of this sunken and extremely asinine level of Republican nationalism.  But hey, I’ve been wrong before.  At any rate, the Dems finally have a solid event on which to lash out at the Republicans for being the deceptive, venal, parasitic and domineering assholes they are.  Not that they needed any further excuse to mount their own attack, just a little backbone.

My question to Roly-poly Limpdick is this:  what exactly have you done to support this war?  Did you take your bulging, thickheaded self to the desert to fight?  Did you send you sons or daughters to the war?  Have you done anything except shoot your mouth off this entire time?  Or instead have you sat there in your studio and polluted the air waves with your right-wing, hypocritical opinions for the past six years?  Maybe that is how you support the troops…wait, I’ll bet you have a ribbon on you car, don’t you?

Calling any soldier who serves in our military right now, especially one who has served in the sandbox a ‘phony soldier’ is nothing short of shockingly degrading to the sacrifices made by these men and women, and the sacrifices made by their families.  Just because a soldier does not hold to your own misguided, ill-informed ideas about the current administration or the actions of these imbeciles doesn’t make them a phony soldier, nor does make them any less a patriot.  Or in the words of Carl Schurz “My Country! When right keep it right; when wrong, set it right!”   These men and women, these soldiers, are fed up with being lied too.  They are tired of being sent to fight in a war that we cannot win.  They are, like the rest of this nation, weary of war in general.  Though I doubt Rush knows much of war or the military, nor does he know anything of sacrifice, hence his insulting commentary.

In short, McButternuts, you owe the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families as well, an apology.  But I won’t hold my breath.

Asshole.
