Police and tasers…
In the month of September alone there have been three separate incidents of what I would term, police abuse with tasers. First, the bit with at the University of Florida and student Andrew Meyer. John Kerry, two words for you: gutless wonder. Students and those attending the speech, three words: gutless fucking wonders. You all sat there, some of you laughing, the rest of you wondering if you should have done something. Pathetic.
Then there was the killing of an old woman with tasers. She was in a fucking wheelchair!!! Oh, but wait…she was wielding two knives. She was a threat. Big, bad policeman felt that their lives were threatened by a knife-wielding-wheelchair bound grandmother. Really guys? Are you that insecure or poorly trained? Come on…she was a grandmother!!! In a damn wheelchair! Get the fuck out of here.
Now a third case of tasering gone wrong. A single mother tasered for something along the lines of four minutes straight. Once again onlookers did nothing but gape and say “Oh my god oh my god…should we do something?”. Keep in mind I wasn’t there so I cannot vouch for any party, but I believe that after a one or maybe even two taser jolts this woman was more or less defeated. But the best part of this is the fact that she has to appear in court for resisting arrest and one or two other counts.
People…what the hell is going on? And why aren’t more people raising seven kinds of hell? Since when did we sit around when something is so obviously wrong and do absolutely nothing? Have we lost our collective backbone? Or maybe the answer lies in our law enforcement agencies, or the training regiments of our police departments (if you’re wondering what I mean by that, I am referring to good judgment).
But don’t believe me. Here are some other opinions, and some hard facts for you to peruse at your leisure:
Since 2001, over 200 people have died from Taser use.
And this from a Canadian policeman:
What the hell though. I guess America is more concerned with grabbing a copy of Halo III instead of defending their democracy.
Until next time…later days.
